We create Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) created based on the students goals and current abilities.
The largest portion of our students work on gaining their Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English, along with AQA Unit Awards in many subjects. Unit Awards are chosen depending on the students needs and interests.
We also offer more informal learning with the goal of building back up to more traditional academics. This pathway is for students who may have school based trauma and need a safe, low pressure space to re-engage.
1-2-1 tuition can be offered in person at the Centre or online, depending on the needs of the student.
We are in the process of becoming an Open Awards registered exam centre for Functional Skills.
Respite is a short time alternative to give students a break from their usual environment.
Work and topics are set by school and one of our tutors will support the student in completing it at the Centre. This gives learners a chance to be out of school, for whatever reason, without falling too far behind.
6 Week Life Skill courses covering topics such as positive lifestyles, personal action planning and healthy relationships.
Delivered in person at our tuition centre.
We strive to provide a space which is calm, positive and enjoyable. Our approach is underpinned by the principles of PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy).
Playfulness
We never raise our voices and keep the mood as light-hearted as possible at all times.
Acceptance
We accept what events have happened and the focus is now on the future. What can we do so this doesn’t happen again? All consequences are natural and logical - we don’t in believe in punitive measures.
Curiosity
We work alongside our young people to understand their behaviour. We are curious about them, for them and with them.
Empathy
We work hard to understand and validate our young people’s feelings without claiming to know exactly how they feel or being dismissive.
